We all love to sleep! We need it, we look forward to it and more important, we depend on it. However, there are things that we do that reduce the quality of our sleep.
While this might not seem important in the short term, in the long run it definitely makes a difference in our lives. Going to bed late!

Alright, I know that there are like 1 million things that you need to take care of during the day, so you don’t always have the possibility to go to bed early (before 10 p.m). However, when you turn this into a habit, the quality of your sleep is decreased.

The best sleep for you is the one between 10 p.m and 4 a.m, and you should avoid at all costs going to bed later than 10-11 p.m.

While we can’t tell you to forget about the important things, we can ask you to postpone watching a movie tonight and get a couple of hours of sleep more!

Using a bad mattress or a pillow!

Is a good mattress essential for you? Yes, it is! A good mattress will support your neck, spine and muscles, it will prevent numbness, pain, aches and discomfort during the night and it will allow you to have a continuous, restful sleep.

Of course, it is vital to choose the right cooling mattress material and firmness, but luckily there’s plenty of options that you can choose from!

Sleeping with the TV/laptop/mobile around

To begin with, you shouldn’t even have a TV in your bedroom, even less to fall asleep while watching it. The blue light that comes from screens, in general, trick your brain into thinking that it’s daytime. This will make you fall asleep later and if you do fall asleep, you will not wake up well-rested.

Make a habit of leaving all the screens in another room when you go to sleep. If you are used to scrolling on your phone when you are going to bed, try replacing this habit with reading! Eating right before sleeping

You keep hearing this all the time, but somehow you always end up taking dinner right before sleep?

We live in a time when we don’t have the luxury to have a few hours between dinner and going to sleep. Our schedule is very crowded, so we have to do the best with what we have.
On the other hand, taking dinner right before bed can cause stomach discomfort throughout the night and stomach conditions in the long term, troubles falling asleep and agitated sleep. Not to mention that the digestion of the food will be slowed down!

Eat dinner as early as you can, if possible. If not, try to go for light, healthy, easy-to-digest meals. You will definitely feel a difference in the quality of your sleep and after a while it will become a healthy habit!
