8 Ways To Show Your Dog How Much You Love Them

8 Ways To Show Your Dog How Much You Love Them

Dogs are amazing creatures. They share 99% of their DNA with wild wolves, but they still come in a wide variety of breeds, temperaments, and personalities. The one thing which all dogs have in common is that they are fiercely loyal to the ones they love, and if they love you, you will always have a companion who is willing to do anything for you on any day. Here are some ways you can show your dog you love them.

Dogs give us unconditional love every single day of our lives. When we come home from work, they are always happy to see us; in the evenings, they will come and sit with us on the sofa, and when we are feeling ill, they will try to comfort us and make us feel better. What can we do to show these lovely creatures how much they mean to us?

Ways to Show Your Dog You Love Them

Lots of hugs

Every dog loves a good hug. At the end of the day, when you are settling down for the evening, make an effort to give your furry friend a big hug and lots of strokes. They will feel loved and cared for and will likely try to lick you in return. Dogs love being close to you, so this is the perfect way to show them that you care.

Long walks in the country

Even if you have the tiniest little pug as your pet, every dog loves to be outside, running around and playing. When you take your dog to a new place, they will immediately become excited because there are so many new smells and sights to explore. If you want to show your dog you love them, take them somewhere new this weekend and watch how happy they are as they explore this new territory. Spending time with your dog outside the home is a wonderful way to show your dog you love them.

Brush them

Maybe not every dog loves to be brushed, but most of them do. If you spend a little bit of time one afternoon simply brushing your dog’s hair, they will love it because it will give them a much-needed massage as well as get rid of niggling strands of hair. It is a great way to show your affection and improve your bond with your pet because they enjoy the closeness between you, the attention, and the sensation of being brushed.

Playtime

Every dog loves to play. This weekend take a trip to the pet store and pick up a few new toys for your furry friend. Once they have opened their new gifts, you can spend a couple of hours just playing with your dog and having some fun! You can also buy one of those ball-throwing devices online and visit your local field to play fetch long-range. You will both love it, and it will help you bond, and on the plus side, it will tire them out so that they sleep like a log through the night!

Scratch their back

Dogs love nothing more than scratching an itch on their body. And a lot of the time, they love the sensation of being scratched anyway. You can either use your hands or even get a back scratcher and watch your dog wagging their tail at you with enjoyment.

The park

Walks in the countryside are great, but sometimes your dog will love it just as much if you do to their local park. Your dog will know the area, and it will give them the chance to mark their territory once again as well as meet some of their dog friends! You will probably bump into a lot of the same people out and about every day, so it is ideal for your dog.

Lots of treats

Dogs love food. You can buy hemp dog treats and cocktail sausages, give them a little piece of cheese, or even bake them pup cakes with peanut butter inside. It trains their behavior as well as simply reward them for being such a good friend. You can even celebrate their birthday every year with a little treat such as a sausage roll!

Treats are great and all, but there are a number of dogs that suffer from cavities, and most dog owners won’t notice. Ensure excellent dental health for your furry pal with teeth-cleaning treats that are specially designed for dogs. Another tip is to have vets check their teeth during visits to make sure nothing’s amiss.

Bathe them

This one will, of course, depend on the dog you have because not every dog enjoys having a bath. If they don’t like it, then you can avoid doing it unless you have to, but if they do: you can make it fun. You will be able to find dog bubble bath and shampoo online to make bath time more fun, and make sure you use slightly warm water for extra comfort too.

Spread the love
