Top Four Reasons for Emergency Mechanic Callouts

Top Four Reasons for Emergency Mechanic CalloutsAuto mechanics are an essential part of a functioning community. These heroic workers perform tasks daily to make sure that people have vehicles maintained and roadworthy for them to be able to get to work, perform their daily tasks and keep society ticking over. The maintenance and repair of cars, light trucks and motor vehicles are in the hands of mechanics across the country.

Routine functions such as changing the oil, checking fluids and rotating tyres are performed by roadside mechanics and mechanic garages. Auto mechanics also run diagnostic tests to determine the source of a problem when a vehicle isn’t functioning properly. They may replace worn-out parts, such as brakes and brake pads, or conduct more extensive repairs on a vehicle as needed.

Services are performed on a regular basis to make sure that vehicles are road worthy and will be able to pass road safety tests for the foreseeable future. Auto mechanics may also perform safety inspections to ensure that a vehicle meets state safety requirements.

With the above noted emergencies do occur. From time to time, we may need to call car mechanic in Southport.

Let’s have a look at some of the most common reasons garages are called out for roadside assistance.

Dead Batteries.

One of the main offenders of roadside emergencies is simply a dead battery. It can happen to any vehicle at any time, even if the driver has been careful about turning off all electrical components. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of age: batteries tend to lose their charge after three years or so. Consider replacing old batteries before they die and check the charge regularly.

Flat Tyres

Another cause of roadside assistance is a flat tyre. Whether it’s from a pothole, a nail, or just normal wear and tear, a flat tyre can ruin your day. Not to mention, driving on a flat tyre can damage your wheel, and your suspension system. One of the many routine checks that should be undertaken are the tyres. These issues are not subject to insurance claims, as flat tyres are inexpensive and easy to prevent. Inspect your tyres regularly. If you do get a flat, you can try to change it yourself if you have a spare and the tools and a bit of time on your hands.

Lockouts

Keys locked inside the car is the third most common reason for a roadside assistance callout in Australia. Both frustrating and embarrassing we will all probably experience this at one time or another. To avoid lockouts always keep your keys with you and have a spare somewhere safe.

Mechanical Failure

Cars are astonishing machines, but they’re not faultless. Sometimes, your car will break down due to a faulty part, general wear and tear, or poor maintenance. From alternators to transmissions, mechanical failures can leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere.

The best way to prevent mechanical failures is to follow your car’s maintenance schedule and pay attention to any warning signs as they occur. If you notice anything strange, drive your car to a mechanic as soon as possible.
