Dyson
Dyson is a British manufacturer of household electrical appliances, mainly vacuum cleaners. The history of the company began in 1978 when engineer James Dyson decided to fix his old bag vacuum cleaner. Realizing that the suction power had dropped significantly because of the bag and the dirt accumulated there, he decided to create the world’s first bagless or cyclone vacuum cleaner. So the G-Force model appeared, and the Dyson company began.
With the money raised from the sales of G-Force, he founded the company in 1992. Then in June 1993, in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, the inventor built his factory and research center.
Since then, Dyson has produced more than a dozen models and gained worldwide fame thanks to its bagless vacuum cleaners that use cyclone technology and are equipped with HEPA filters.
Hoover
The American company Hoover has a much longer history. It gained worldwide fame thanks to its vacuum cleaners and cleaning systems.
The history of the company dates back to 1908, in Ohio, the US. A store janitor Murray Spangler, suffered from asthma, was constantly thinking about how to solve the dust problem. Finally, he collected the prototype of a vacuum cleaner but unfortunately did not have enough money to promote it. As a result, a patent was acquired by businessman William H. Hoover. So, in the end, in 1908, they founded the Hoover company and started to sell the first vacuum cleaners in the world. For many years, the brand dominated the vacuum industry, and finally, Hoover became synonymous for a “vacuum cleaner.”
In just a few years, Hoover expanded into all continents. And for more than a hundred years, Hoover vacuum cleaners are in high demand in many countries.

Hoover WindTunnel features a telescopic wand, which swings under any angles. But it’s a bit harder to get access to some areas as its wand can’t fold.
Anyway, both vacuums are very light for such devices. Dyson weighs 15.6 pounds; Hoover weighs 14 pounds. And though they are corded vacuums, the length of their cords don’t disturb maneuverability. The wires for Dyson and Hoover are 31 and 30 feet.
