Cleaning your house on a regular basis is essential to keep it shining and fresh all the time. Nowadays, finding time from the busy schedules has become so difficult that you often neglect the spills in your house or the pale bathroom floors. All of these things create a bad environment and affect your health. Hence, it is necessary to clean all the mess on a timely basis. In this article, we have brought some efficient and practical tips that will help you clean your house and keep it shining as you want.

While you start cleaning the house, make sure to follow the below-mentioned steps so that you don’t create double work out of the mess.

Start with dusting

You should start dusting your house from the highest point, such as ceilings, fans, shelves, and then move toward other items. Also, choose one direction such either left to right or right to left, so you don’t miss any corner of your house. Dust topsides of furniture, shelves, handrails, and then move towards TV screens, bedsides, and tables.

Clean all the furniture

Once you are done with dusting, cleaning will become easier and effortless. Take a clean cloth and start wiping the furniture, mirrors, and window glasses throughout the house. You can also use a vacuum cleaner to remove the clogged dust from small corners of beds. If you have dull wooden furniture, make sure to add a varnish coat to restore its wooden finish.

Change the covers

After cleaning, you should move towards changing the covers of bed and pillows. Also, remember to replace the curtains and table cloths, so that everything looks up to the point. Remember to change the bedcovers at least once a week. It will help you to check if any bugs or mites are hidden under the bed and keep it away from the dust.

Clean the floor

As everything is dusted and cleaned, it’s time to remove all the dirt from the floors. You can first start sweeping and then use the steam mop for laminate floors. These steam mops are popularly used in many houses for effective cleaning.

Start cleaning your kitchen and bathroom:

It is advisable to first clean your living room and hall by following the above steps and then move towards the kitchen and bathroom. This is because these two places require much cleaning as compared to other areas of your home. So, here are some small tips that will help you get rid of the stuck-on food and pale bathroom floors.

Clean kitchen countertops

If you have the butcher block kitchen countertops, it is quite sure that they have gunk settled on the surfaces. To clean the entire gunk, all you need to do is sprinkle some coarsely textured table salt over the light marks and scrub with the cut side of a half a lemon. Keep it overnight, and then rinse with water. You will see a shiny texture on the surface that offers a fresh and clean look.

Clean the dishwasher

After continuous washes, your dishwasher starts building up grime and excess food if it is not cleaned regularly. Hence, make it a habit of cleaning your dishwasher daily and remove the remaining bits of foods that get stuck between the racks. Besides, you can also pull out the bottom rack and check if any leftover food is stuck somewhere. You can clean it with a paper towel or any soft cloth as per your convenience.

Clean the kitchen cabinets

While you are trying new recipes, it is apparent that some food gets stuck on the kitchen cabinets. To clean all those stuff, you can add a little amount of dish soap in a spray bottle with warm water. Use this spray to remove the grease or any sticky substance that is present on the cabinets. After spraying, rinse the cabinet with a well-wring cloth and let it dry.

Clean the microwave

Removing the grime from the microwave is much easier if you know the right way to do it. You should never scrub it with any hard substance as it can damage your microwave. Hence, to remove the grime, heat a cup of water, mix some vinegar and a chopped-up lemon until you see the steam-generating inside the microwave. Then, switch off the microwave and let the bowl sit for 5 minutes. After that, open the door and you will be able to clean the mess easily with a cloth.

Revive the stemware

If you have stemware that has turned cloudy due to hard-water minerals, revive them with a simple step. Soak them in white vinegar for five minutes and then rinse with your hand. Once done, dry them with a clean microfiber cloth.

Clean up the shower

Is your shower’s pressure reduced over time? It might be because the shower head has clogged with unnecessary dirt. You can clean it up by mixing white vinegar with water and adding it into a plastic bag. Tie this bag around the head of the shower in a way that all the holes are immersed in the solution. Keep it for an hour and then wipe away the solution with water. You will see a clean shower that allows more pressured water to flow through it.

Freshen up your bathroom tiles

If your bathroom tiles are looking dull because of the grout, follow this simple step. Take one gallon of water and mix 3/4th cup of household chlorine bleach. Tale a stiff brush so that you can apply this mixture to small areas effectively. Keep the mixture on tiles for several minutes, scrub and then rinse. Remember to wear rubber gloves and eye protection to be safe from any reactions.

Conclusion

We hope that these tips will help you clean your house more efficiently and give it a refreshing look.
