Glass Fencing for your Home and Garden

Glass fencing may not be you first thought when considering what to use in your home and garden. After all, it doesn’t dramatically increase your privacy levels and many people think about all the cleaning that goes into the glass screens.

Of course, if you’re looking for balustrades Sydney then glass is an incredibly sought after, stylish solution. In fact, this is why you should consider it for your garden as well.

The advantages of glass fencing

Whether you’re using glass balustrades or fencing you will allow the light through to a given area. This is especially important on stairs and balconies. Blocking the light with traditional fences can leave large parts of your home feeling dark, glass fences eliminate this issue while still providing you with a great view of your garden.

In addition, the glass is exceptionally effective at blocking wind, while allowing the heat of the sun through, effectively warming your space and allowing you to use it for longer.

It is even possible to get a dark glass, or frosted glass if you want the effect but needs privacy. Or, if you don’t mind spending a little more you can get privacy glass, where you can see out but others can’t see in.

It’s also important to remember that a glass fence and balustrades are made from toughened glass, you’ll be able to fall into these without them breaking. This is not always the case when using traditional fencing.

An extra safety benefit is when you have a pool, you can use glass fencing to prevent children from gaining unauthorized access while still enjoying a view of the pool from anywhere in your home.

You can also purchase glass fencing in a huge array of styles, or you can have panels made specifically to your own requirements.

Inside Your Home

Glass fencing is common inside your home as a balustrade for your stairs. Not only does it do the job very well, but it also can appear invisible.

But, what may surprise you the most is that it needs very little cleaning! Unless you have children or a dog, you’ll find that the glass rarely gets touched. Even with pets and children, a quick wipe over with a cloth can sort out any issues and leave your glass fencing looking fantastic.

The Downside

Of course, glass fencing is not the cheapest option on the market. But, it is generally long-lasting. Providing you’re not planning on moving soon it can be a great investment.

The other downside is that glass is clear if people are not aware it is there they may walk straight into it. That can be a painful and embarrassing experience. You’ll need to be prepared for this without resorting to adding stickers to the glass panels, they may ruin the entire look of your beautiful glass fencing.

You can get glass fencing in virtually any style you wish, making it the perfect addition to your home and garden. It’s functional and beautiful.
