How Is A Spot Treatment For Hormonal Acne Helpful?

How Is A Spot Treatment For Hormonal Acne Helpful

Acne is one of the most confusing skin conditions. While it feels like you are the only one dealing with the problem of acne, 90% of Americans face it at some point of their life and all skin does not react the same. There are some similarities why you experience break out,as well as the products you look for to treat them. Before you find the best acne treatment, you should know what type of acne you are dealing with, so that you can target your spot treatment for hormonal acne accordingly and go for some Healthy Remedies.

Causes of Acne – All acne are caused due to four main causes- clogged pores occur due to sticky cells, oil production, bacteria, and hormones. All these factors cause different types of acne.

When treating acne, keep the intensity of your acne in mind. For occasional breakouts that are not inflamed, take an appointment with a dermatologist as soon as possible. In case of hyper pigmentation- darkening of the skin due to inflammation left from the acne, you need to seek care immediately. When you have tried a number of counter products and they are not making any change then you should know it’s time to consult a dermatologist. Most of the treatments clear your skin in 3 months, but if you don’t see any good result by 2 months then you should see your dermatologist.

Best Acne Treatment- There are a large number of ways to treat acne, from gels, creams and washes to procedures and prescriptions. Which is the best depends on what acne type you have and how bad it is.

For mild acne, start with counter products that don’t require a prescription. Firstly, Wash your face regularly. Regular washing your face makes a vast difference. You should be gentle, as overdoing it can worsen the matter. Acne face washes have salicylic acid, which clears your pores by removing the oil. If your skin is sensitive then use a foaming face wash or a gentle cleanser.

When to Consult a Dermatologist- You can go to a dermatologist any time you want. If you have acne scars, hard bumps, painful nodules or deep cysts then go right away. Your doctor will look at your problem, prescribe a medicine to apply and may also give you pills to help you further.

Hormonal acne is a term which is not used in medical research or by doctors, but maybe used on the internet, by people selling natural remedies or in glossy magazines. People may call it hormonal acne to link it to the fact that the teenagers going through hormonal changes of puberty face this problem the most.

One major factor causing hormonal acne is the hormone Testosterone. Its level goes up in the teenage years at puberty, causing male development in boys and giving bone and muscle strength in girls. This hormone increases sebum production at the base of hairs. The oil secreting glands are sensitive to testosterone. Other hormones also play a part in acne. In women, during pregnancy or menstrual cycle the hormonal changes can also trigger acne. Fall in estrogen levels increases the risk of acne around menopause. Polycystic ovary syndrome can also trigger acne.

The exact timeline for hormonal acne varies from one person to another, being proactive can prevent the breakouts. It takes nearly 8-10 weeks for a new acne treatment to take full effect. To maximize your results you can revise your current regimen and incorporate different treatments.
