A dog is a man’s best friend. They are loyal precious creatures that value their friendship more than their own life. When it comes to pets these days people really like to celebrate their best friend’s special day. Even a few years ago it was pretty rare to see people celebrating the birthday of their pets but not it is pretty much a norm.
So, if you have decided that you are going to bake a cake for your dog then you are in the right place.
The flour
You have to be selective about the floor you are willing to use. Not all flours are the same even though it’s commonly used to make dog foods like biscuits. Choose the best flour for the dog’s health. Flours like the All-purpose flour should be avoided due to their extreme processing and low nutrient value. Choose whole-grain flour like whole wheat. If your pet is wheat sensitive then try non-grain flour.
What other ingredients should you use?
As you incorporate basic food into your dog’s cake, make sure it’s dog friendly. Lists like these exist to help you decide which ingredients are right for your dog. To get started, here are some common foods you should and shouldn’t feed your dog:
Safe food– Apples (seedless), blueberries, carrots, peas, potatoes, pumpkin, strawberries, low-sugar yogurt, applesauce, pumpkin puree, bananas.
Unsafe food– Avocados, cherries, chocolates, grapes.
Now that you know how to choose the ingredients, let’s bake the perfect cake with this dog cake recipe.

If your dog is a meat lover, like most dogs, are you can also put some suitable meaty treats in the cake for the dog, although it’s generally harder to do because cakes and meats don’t fit so well but there are ways to make it happen. If you haven’t baked many cakes before in your cooking or baking life then just stick to the basics and try to simplify the process to the best of your abilities. If you are not confident enough you can always order a cake for your dog instead of baking one but baking is more fun.
