Jingle Bells DIY Craft Idea

Katharine · November 26, 2017 ·

Spread the love

Here's a great way to make large jingle bells to fill your treenware or baskets for Christmas. Get several large jingle bells. These were found at the Dollar Tree. They will probably be a bright brass or silver color.

Jingle Bells for Your Bowls

You begin by wiping them clean of any residue and dust. Next, lay them out on newspaper in a well ventilated area such as the open garage or outside. And, with a can of spray paint (Red Oxide Primer) simply spray paint the bells evenly. You should allow them dry before moving them to get the unpainted sides. They may need to add an additional layer of paint.

Like a more antique look?

If you prefer a more antique/dingy look, use some water base stain and a cloth to lighter rub over the painted surface. Or, you can use some brown rub and buff. Let it dry before you handle them to avoid finger prints.

Arranging your Bells

Get some fresh or imitation sprigs of evergreen, red berry springs or other Christmas style floral sprigs. Arrange the bells in the bowl and fill in around them with the floral and greenery. No need to overfill. Prim is simple. Another neat idea is filling the bowl with fresh potpourri. Just be sure to protect the bowl from the oils.

Can't Paint?

For those who lack a space to spray paint or the time to do it. Check out these great jingle bells on Amazon (Click on the images to shop for them on Amazon :). They have the silver also if you aren't able find them at your local dollar store.
