How to Tea Stain Tags

Tools you need:
Manilla shipping tags
1/2″ sponge brush
Instant tea (or coffee)
Bowl
Drying rack or old baking sheet

(pic 1)

1. The mixture I use for most of my tea staining is 1 cup of instant tea to 1.5 cups of very hot water. If you can boil the water, that is better! For bigger projects, just double/triple the ratios. Mix together in a bowl.

2. Use your sponge brush and ‘paint' the mixture onto your tags. You can dunk them in the bowl if you prefer, just don't leave them in too long or they can get mushy.

3. Lay them out on a backing sheet or drying rack; I prefer to dry mine in the sun or in front of a fan.

4. When completely dry, store until you are ready to write/stamp/embellish them for your creations.
