The Best Pots and Pans for New Chefs

The Best Pots and Pans for New Chefs

Over quarantine, you found yourself with enough time to discover a new passion: cooking. Over time, you’ve bettered your skills and your techniques. But you’re still learning.

Or maybe you haven’t even begun your journey into the culinary world yet and are still figuring out the timing of boiling spaghetti. But something in your heart wants to improve and be able to make elaborate, delicious meals for your family and friends.

No matter where you’re at in your foray into cooking, if you’re a new chef, you have a lot to learn.

One of the most important things that you can learn before teaching yourself any cooking techniques is which cookware you need to achieve your dream. But don’t worry about spending hours researching what pots and pans are the best for new chefs.

We’ve collected all the info you need right here.

What Your Pots and Pans Need to Do

As a new chef, there are a few key things that you need your pots and pans to do for you.

The best pots and pans for new chefs will ideally make your job easier. Here are a few of the key components to a successful collection of pots and pans.

Heat Evenly

First and foremost, your pots and pans need to be able to heat their contents evenly. There’s nothing quite worse for your beginning journey into cooking than using a pan that has hot spots that burn part of your dish while leaving some of it raw.

Even heating ensures that you won’t accidentally burn your food without really doing anything wrong.

Be Non-stick

Cooking in your early stages of learning is hard enough, why add to it by making your food harder to move around?

If you want the best pot or pan that will make cooking easier, look for one that’s non-stick. This will also offer you the opportunity to use less butter or oil, making your dishes not only easier but a little bit healthier, too.

Be Durable

If you’re going to get the best pots and pans, you want them to last, right?

A set of pots and pans that is durable as well as effective is incredibly important, especially to those of us just starting out as chefs. You may also find yourself possibly making mistakes (you are new, after all) and you don’t want to risk having those small mistakes cause damage to your nice pots and pans.

Easy to Clean

Let’s face it, nobody likes doing the dishes. And if you’re new to cheffing, you’re going to be using more pots and pans than ever before.

That’s why you need your new set to be easy and simple to clean quickly so you can get right back to cooking up new dishes as soon as possible. You already spent all of that time cooking, who wants to spend another hour just washing the pots and pans you used?

Quality of Materials

A chef is only as good as their tools. You want to make sure that your cookware is made of the highest quality materials that will produce the best results in your cooking.

Ceramic-coated pots and pans are considered the best on the market today. They heat evenly, are easy to clean, and are durable enough to last you a lifetime.

Enamel cookware is also a great option, especially for people that are looking for non-toxic options. The only major drawback is its cost which is why I personally prefer to stick with ceramic cookware.

Pots and Pans Can Make Your Time Cooking Easier and More Enjoyable

As a new chef, you don’t want anything coming in between you and cooking success. Getting the best pot and pan set can make all of the difference in your cooking and can encourage you to keep doing your best.
