The Big Question: How Do You Get Rid Of Carpet Stains?

The Big Question: How Do You Get Rid Of Carpet Stains

A carpet adds to the glory of your living room. It can instantly brighten up a seemingly dull day. A carpet is a luxury that comes with several maintenance duties. It can be tricky to maintain your carpet as there is always a risk of staining it. Luckily for you, the task of getting rid of carpet stains is not impossible to manage as there are many ways to fight different stains on your carpet. So if you are dealing with these nasty stains, here’s a breather. There is still hope for your carpet, and you can remove the stains in the best way possible. Let’s find out how.

Stubborn Coffee Stains

Slouching on your couch and having a warm cup of coffee can be simply satisfying. However, due to some callousness, if you do end up spilling it, take a deep breath. You have this under control.

It is easy to remove coffee stains. All you need to do is use equal amounts of water and vinegar, a cup each, form a mixture, and add almost half a cup of cleaning solution to the same. Mix this concoction well and spray it on your carpet to heal it.

A Nasty Wine Stain

One big wine spill can ruin your entire day. Hopefully, not anymore. Grab a paper towel, dampen it, and dab it on the stain. Once the major part of the stain is soaked through the towel, all you need to do is take one cup of water and half a tablespoon of white vinegar and mix them well. Add a dishwashing liquid of your choice. Dab the mixture you have made and repeat the process till the wine stain disappears.

A Candle Wax Stain Crisis

You can use a carpet steam cleaner for this process. The steam from the same will melt the candle wax. You can easily remove it from the carpet with your nails or with a butter knife. You can also use iron. Place a towel over the stain and run the iron over it. It will melt the wax, and then you can remove it right after.

A Long-Lasting Ink Stain

This could be a calligrapher’s worst nightmare. The havoc that ink stains can cause on your carpet is unparalleled. Well, let’s see how to deal with them. Take a clean cloth and dip it in isopropyl alcohol, then use the dab method on the stained area. Refrain from rubbing it.

The Big Question: How Do You Get Rid Of Carpet Stains

Disappointing Pet Stains

The furry friends can sometimes do unfriendly deeds like pooping or peeing over your regal carpet. While you may not have time to train your pet, you can certainly treat the stains. Firstly clear up the mess that they have caused. In case of poop, clean it with gloves and a pan. Whereas in the case of urine, blot the area using tissues or a paper towel.

Now, take half a cup of white vinegar and mix it with warm water. Spray it on the area and let it soak for a while. Afterward, blot with a paper towel. Later you can apply baking soda to get rid of any foul smell. You might also need a few passes of floor scrubber over the floor beneath your carpet to eradicate the odor.

Unyielding Blood Stains Woes

In the case of blood stains, you need to use cold water. Make a mixture of 2 cups of cold water and half a cup of dishwashing liquid. Mix it well and then dab it on the area. Let it soak, and use another set of paper towels to soak up the moisture.

Conclusion

Remember the rule of thumb. When it comes to removing any stain from your carpet, never rub! Rubbing spreads the stain, and you are left with a bigger mess than there was initially. Always use the dab method to win the frustrating battle against stains. Keep your cool and dab!
